Learn about Projects for Transmission Services Corporation, including Cooks Point Transmission Project and Mountain Home Transmission Project.

Cooks Point Transmission Project

The Cooks Point Transmission Project was completed in June 2021 to bring transmission infrastructure and long-term electric reliability to a growing area of Burleson County in Texas. The project included construction of a new 138-kilovolt (kV) load-serving substation near Cooks Point and a new 138-kV transmission line connecting to the existing Lyle Wolz Substation. In order to provide this essential service, LCRA Transmission Services Corporation filed an application to amend its existing Certificate of Convenience and Necessity with the Public Utility Commission of Texas. The PUC approved the application in June 2019.

Mountain Home Transmission Project

The Mountain Home Transmission Project is designed to bring transmission infrastructure to growing areas in Gillespie, Kimble and Kerr counties in Texas. The proposed project includes construction of a new 138-kilovolt (kV) load-serving Mountain Home Substation and a new 138-kV transmission line connecting the Mountain Home Substation to existing substations located in Harper and either Ingram or Hunt. In order to construct and operate these facilities, LCRA Transmission Services Corporation filed an application to amend its existing Certificate of Convenience and Necessity with the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
